The CACHE Level 3 CCLD is an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) for people who are working in childcare. It continues your professional development from Level 2 awards and acts a s a stepping stone in your career. You can complete it if you are working in face to face roles with children, young people aged 0-16 years) and families, either supervising others or working unsupervised.
Why should I choose the Level 3 CCLD?
You can complete it while you are working without needing to attend classes, sit exams or study for written tests. The beauty of the award is there is no extra workload! If you are planning to got university or move into a more managerial position, then the Level 3 CCLD is a great certificate to achieve. You can use it to work as:
A childminder
A daycare supervisor
Pre-school supervisor
A family support worker
A classroom assistant
What’s involved?
The Level 3 CCLD is made up of 9 units – 5 mandatory units and 4 option units. You must choose 2 options units. The option units are divided in groups 1 and 2; two units must be chosen from groups 1 and 2 respectively.
Do I need to have any other qualifications before I start the award?
No, but you must be working in a childcare setting. You must also demonstrate that you are capable of supervising others or of working unsupervised.
How long will it take to achieve the Level 3 CCLD?
This will depend on your motivation and commitment!
How will I be assessed?
An approved assessor will visit your workplace to assess your work.
Progression
When you have completed the Level 3 CCLD, you may go on to take:
CACHE Level 3 Certificate of Professional Development in Work with Children and Young People (CPD)
CACHE Level 4 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD)
