NVQ Level 4 CCLD

The CACHE Level 4 CCLD is an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) for professionals working in childcare. It is aimed at professionals that are working in face to face roles with children, young people (aged 0-16) and families at senior/management level. Professionals can use it to work as:

A childminding network co-ordinator
A centre manager
A senior practitioner involving high-skills with children and families


What is involved?
The Level 4 CCLD is made up 9 units. There are 4 mandatory units and 5 option units. Candidates must finish all 9 units to get the full certificate.

How long will take to achieve the level 4 CCLD?
This will depend on the candidate’s motivation and commitment but support is provided throughout your training by the Childcare Plus team to help you achieve the qualification.

How will I be assessed?
An approved assessor will visit your workplace to assess your work.

Progression
When you have completed the Level 4 CCLD, you may go on to take:

The CACHE Level 4 Certificate in Managing Quality Standards In Children’s Services (CQMS)
A higher level qualification e.g. a Foundation Degree

The contents of the mandatory and option units should be familiar to managers of early years settings. The mandatory units are:

Establish and develop working relationships
Support policies, procedures and practice to safeguard children and ensure their inclusion and well-being
Support programmes for the promotion of children’s development
Reflect on, review and develop own practice
