CACHE Level 1 Getting Started in a Pre-School

Who is the qualification aimed at?
Unqualified staff, parents and volunteers involved in the work of pre-school settings.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry qualifications but learners must be at least 16 years of age at the date of registration.

What does the qualification cover?
The basic knowledge needed to participate in the provision made by pre-school settings.

What age range is covered?
1 to 5 years of age.

How is it assessed?
A multiple choice question paper

Are practical placements required?
No, but it is recommended that learners have access to a pre-school setting.

How long does the qualification take to complete?
30 guided learning hours.

What related qualifications can learner’s progress to?
CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Pre-school Practice.
CACHE Level 2 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
